Car safari from Manali

Explore Manali and the high Himalayas by private cab

A Manali car safari is the easiest way to see the snow points, valleys and high passes around Manali at your own pace. You get a private cab with a local driver who knows the mountain roads, picks you up from your hotel and plans the day around weather and traffic.

Same-day trips from Manali

Most travellers start with a Manali local sightseeing tour of Hadimba Temple, Vashisht, Old Manali and the Tibetan monastery. For snow, book a Manali to Rohtang Pass taxi (the vehicle permit is included in our fare), a half-day trip to Solang Valley for paragliding and the ropeway, or a drive through the 9 km Atal Tunnel to Sissu in the Lahaul Valley. On Tuesdays, when Rohtang is closed, Gulaba and Kothi are the nearest snow points. River lovers can take a Kasol and Manikaran day trip into the Parvati Valley or go rafting near Kullu.

1 night · 2 day and multi-day trips

To go further, plan an overnight car safari. A Manali to Chandratal Lake trip crosses Kunzum Pass into Spiti for a night at the moon lake. Jispa and Deepak Tal make a relaxed overnight on the Leh highway, and Kasol and Tosh is a favourite Parvati Valley stay. For a full Spiti tour from Manali, our 2 nights · 3 days Kaza trip covers Key Monastery, Kibber, Langza and Chicham bridge.

All-inclusive cab fares

Car safari questions

What travellers ask before booking a trip from Manali.

Still have a question?Talk to Dushyant directly. We usually reply within minutes.
How much does a Manali car safari cost?

Prices depend on the trip and the cab you choose. Every fare is per cab, up and down, and includes fuel, vehicle permit, driver DA, taxes and tolls. Choose a cab on any package to see the price, or send us your group size for a quote.

Is the Rohtang Pass permit included?

Yes. The vehicle permit for Rohtang Pass is included in our Rohtang fare, and we apply for it when you book. Permits are limited each day and Rohtang is closed to tourist vehicles on Tuesdays.

What time do same-day trips start?

Most same-day trips start between 7 and 9 am from your hotel in Manali. Rohtang and Kasol start earlier, around 6–7 am, to avoid traffic and permit queues.

Which trips can be done as 1 night · 2 days?

Chandratal Lake, Jispa & Deepak Tal and Kasol & Tosh are our most popular overnight trips. For Spiti, we recommend at least 2 nights · 3 days to Kaza. Hotel or camp stays are not included in the cab fare.

Which cab is best for a car safari?

Hatchbacks and sedans suit couples on paved roads. For snow points, Spiti and Lahaul, choose an SUV, MUV or 4X4. Groups of 9 or more travel together in a Tempo Traveller or Urbania.

Can you plan a custom route?

Yes. Tell us the places you want to see and how many days you have, and Dushyant will plan a custom car safari across Himachal, Ladakh or Kashmir.
